Who are the new partners? How will we cooperate? How to deal with managerial decisions? What are the tentpole events and how shall we communicate with the outside world? A project kick-off meeting is mostly characterised by finding the answers to these and other related questions. The meeting was also a great opportunity to get to know the consortium and learn about different aspects of urban road safety. This and much more happened during the PHOEBE kick-off meeting, which took place on 6-7 December in Brussels, Belgium, at the premises of POLIS Network.
Besides the creation of first connections between the project partners, the PHOEBE consortium also got to know the CINEA project manager Shona Holroyd as the PHOEBE contact person of the EU agency. First focuses were put on the dissemination and communication of the project in order to provide a platform for the audience of interested stakeholders. This was followed by discussions about the first deliverables, which include the methodological approach of PHOEBE, management plans for data, ethics, as well as the dissemination and communication.
Further discussions took place related to administrative topics, such as the selection of a shared document repository, the regularity of work package meetings and other structures that are the prerequisite for a successful cooperation over the course of 3.5 years.
Lastly, it was agreed that the next consortium meeting will be held in June 2023 in Athens (GR), which will allow the partners to gain first-hand insights on the local pilots and transport modelling plans.
